The Backbumper iPhone case is designed to protect your phone from the scratches and marks that are caused by leaving it on surfaces. This cover is not designed to protect your phone from drops.

The Backbumper protects the back and the sides of the phone and prevents it from grating off of harsh surfaces it may find itself placed on. The Backbumper also improves purchase of the phone whilst in the hand and decreases the iPhone's tendancy to slip. The corner nubs act like feet on the front of the phone raising the front glass away from the surface if the phone is places face down.
